Qualifications

• MS in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Life Science, or related discipline.
• 10+ (12+) years of programming experience, preferably in processing clinical trial data in biotech/pharma.
• Project and people management experience.
• Advanced SAS programming skills in a clinical data environment; expertise in at least one therapeutic area.
• Knowledge of other programming languages such as R or Python is a plus.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical clinical development across multiple therapeutic areas and regulatory submissions.
• Ability to work on global interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, solve problems, and innovate.
• Experience with global regulatory submissions and adapt to different regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage the programming aspect of projects in collaboration with partnering functions, stakeholders, and external service providers.
• Oversee all programming deliverables from single study through regulatory approval and product launch.
• Maintain consistent code, logs, and output within a regulated environment.
• Lead or participate in process and methodology development for departmental goals and SME topics.
• Ensure compliance with programming standards and processes for multiple studies.
• Proactively communicate with study and project teams to clarify requirements and specifications.
• Guide direct reports or support programmers on assignment status.
• Lead and support global regulatory authority submissions, preparing programming deliverables and addressing health authority requests.
• Manage department goals, SME topics, and oversee performance evaluation and development of direct reports.
• Participate in screening and interviewing candidates for contractor and permanent positions.
