Job summary

Shield AI, a defense-tech company, seeks a State Estimation Engineer to join the GNC team and develop algorithms that fuse data from IMUs, radar, cameras, GPS, and more for autonomous X-BAT operations.

You will design real-time sensor pipelines, improve state estimation accuracy, and collaborate with software, autonomy, and hardware engineers. Requirements: 5+ years with a BS (4 years with MS, 2 with PhD), C++11+, Linux, strong communication; security clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's, 4 years with a Master's, or 2 years with a PhD.
• Experience with real-time sensor processing algorithms (cameras, radar, IMUs, GPS).
• Strong knowledge of state estimation techniques (Kalman filters, particle filters).
• Proficiency in C++11 or newer.
• Experience with Linux and command line tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced sensor algorithms for processing data from IMUs, radar, cameras, GPS, and other sensors.
• Enhance state estimation algorithms by integrating multi-sensor data for improved accuracy and robustness.
• Design and implement real-time sensor data processing pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, autonomy researchers, and hardware engineers, to ensure seamless integration of state estimation algorithms.
• Conduct experiments and field tests to validate the performance of state estimation algorithms in real-world scenarios.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in sensor technologies and state estimation, applying them to our systems.
