Shield AI is seeking engineers for the Hivemind SDK State Estimation and Vision team to build tools that help researchers develop, validate, and benchmark autonomous navigation systems. You will turn sensor data into reproducible experiments, diagnostics, and actionable performance insights.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• Strong software engineering skills in Python and modern C++.
• Experience building developer tools, data pipelines, test infra, or analysis software for robotics/autonomy.
• Working knowledge of linear algebra, probability, 3D geometry, and coordinate transformations.
• Familiarity with state estimation concepts (sensor fusion, filtering, SLAM).
• Experience Linux development, version control, automated testing, debugging, profiling.

Responsibilities

• Ingest, inspect, synchronize, and replay sensor data (camera, IMU, GNSS).
• Develop visualization and diagnostics for trajectories and estimator health.
• Create reproducible evaluation workflows tracking datasets and configurations.
• Build automated benchmarks and regression tests for estimation performance and drift.
• Enable batch experiments, parameter sweeps, and comparisons across versions.
