Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Build Engineer for Starship in Texas. You will bridge design and manufacturing, developing tooling, fixtures, and processes to enable iterative builds and down-select to high-rate production.

You will lead on-site engineering efforts, deliver CAD models for flight hardware, and coordinate testing and integration activities with production teams. Strong GD&T, FEA, NX/Teamcenter skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with complex mechanical systems and leadership
• Experience with design-for-manufacturability (DFM) concepts
• Proficiency in GD&T and manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

• Work with analysts and design to ensure hardware meets design and manufacturing constraints
• Develop production procedures for parts transitions to high-rate production
• Coordinate testing of tooling and systems to meet deadlines
• Identify DFM improvements to increase production efficiency
• Create CAD models and drawings for flight hardware and tooling
• Serve as on-site design engineering contact for build and assembly
• Create and maintain build schedules
• Resolve manufacturing discrepancies with Quality team
• Participate in design reviews with teams and suppliers
• Collaborate with engineering and production for improvements
