Job summary

Vizient, Inc. is seeking a skilled Graph Database Engineer to manage Stardog environments supporting healthcare analytics and interoperability.

You will optimize SPARQL queries, design semantic models, and collaborate with architects and governance teams to maintain ontologies. The role involves deploying in Linux environments, integrating with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Databricks, and using Kubernetes/Docker on Azure.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Stardog or similar graph databases.
• Ability to optimize SPARQL queries and graph workloads.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, monitor, upgrade, and maintain Stardog environments across development, test, and production.
• Ensure platform availability, scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
• Administer enterprise knowledge graph solutions for healthcare analytics, interoperability, benchmarking, and AI initiatives.
• Develop and optimize SPARQL queries, semantic reasoning, indexing strategies, and large-scale graph workloads.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, DR, and BC processes.
• Manage RDF, OWL, RDFS, SHACL and semantic data models for healthcare concepts and relationships.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and data governance for ontologies and semantic models.
• Support data virtualization, graph integrations, and semantic interoperability initiatives.
• Partner with Data/Platform Engineering to support enterprise data platforms.
• Integrate Stardog with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Databricks, cloud storage, APIs, and data integration tech.
• Develop automation scripts and procedures for deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and platform administration.
• Support cloud-native deployments using Kubernetes, Docker, Azure Container Apps, AKS, and related Azure services.
• Monitor platform health, performance, capacity, and operational metrics.
• Perform performance tuning and capacity management for graph databases.
• Support CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code practices where appropriate.
• Administer and support platform operations in Linux-based environments via CLI.

• Develop and optimize SPARQL queries, semantic reasoning performance, indexing strategies, and large-scale graph workloads.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Manage RDF, OWL, RDFS, SHACL, and semantic data models representing healthcare concepts, measures, entities, and relationships.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and data governance teams to design and maintain healthcare ontologies and semantic models.
• Support data virtualization, graph integrations, and semantic interoperability initiatives.
• Partner with Data Engineering and Platform Engineering teams to support enterprise data platforms.
• Integrate Stardog with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Databricks, cloud storage platforms, APIs, and data integration technologies.
• Develop automation scripts and operational procedures for deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and platform administration.
• Support cloud-native deployments utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, Azure Container Apps, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and related Azure services.
• Monitor platform health, performance, capacity, and operational metrics.
• Perform performance tuning and capacity management for graph database environments.
• Support CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices where appropriate.
• Administer and support platform operations within Linux-based environments using command-line tools.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
