Job summary

The State Air Resources Board (CARB) seeks a Standards Laboratory Section Supervisor to lead a team ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance in California’s ambient air monitoring network. You will supervise testing, QC checks, and audits of air monitoring equipment, and coordinate with partners to ensure data quality for public health and regulatory use.

Hybrid in-office work is possible; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: AIR RESOURCES SUPERVISOR I.

Responsibilities

• Direct testing and scientific evaluations to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Manage laboratory operations and oversight of the environmental test chamber.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal partners (including the U.S. EPA) to promote uniform quality assurance practices.
