Job summary

Agar Welding & Steel, a division of Houck Industrial, is seeking an experienced Stairs and Railing Fabricator/Installer. You will layout, fabricate, fit, and install stairs, railings, handrails, guardrails, platforms, ladders, and other miscellaneous metals using steel and aluminum.

The ideal candidate reads blueprints, performs layouts, and can troubleshoot fit-up or site challenges with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience in steel and/or aluminum fabrication of miscellaneous metals including stairs, railing, ladders.
• Proficient in MIG welding; certification is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and shop sketches independently.
• High School Diploma or GED; valid driver’s license and ability to travel to jobsites as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship; safety prioritized.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate custom miscellaneous metals (stairs, railing, ladders, catwalks) from shop drawings.
• Operate welding equipment, cutting tools, grinders, and fabrication machinery.
• Assemble fabricated steel components in the shop with accuracy and alignment.
• Install fabricated metals onsite ensuring quality fit and alignment.
• Collaborate with supervisor and team to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment in shop and on jobsites.
