Job summary

Sonatus in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Technical Program Manager to define, manage, and support engineering projects. You will coordinate status, follow up on action items, and drive issues to closure across partners and customers.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in TPM role, strong software development process knowledge, and proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in fast-moving automotive software environments. Hybrid work option available.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated Technical Program Manager to define, manage, and support Sonatus Engineering projects. The ideal candidate will need to coordinate and communicate project status, follow up on action items, and identify solutions to issues across various partners and customers. The ideal candidate should be a meticulous organizer, an out-of-the-box thinker, and an excellent communicator with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Drive internal engineering teams in the development of project plans, monitor schedules, document agreements & meeting minutes, track action items, and drive issues to successful closures.
• Coordinate and manage software releases and engineering change requests.
• Lead multiple simultaneous projects and be able to develop mitigation plans when challenges surface.
• Grasp business needs and issues quickly and be comfortable in presenting reports and providing status to different teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of Technical Program Management experience leading complex software releases.
• Strong understanding of software development processes.
• Self-motivated, persistent, organized, with the ability to multitask across several projects.
• Manage projects from initiation to completion, while providing regular updates and communication to cross-functional teams and partners.
• Utilize technical background and engineering methodology to prioritize and tackle complex problems.
• Ability to work cross-functionally on large, complex programs with a high level of ambiguity and strategically lead programs to success.
• Well-versed in Agile Project Management processes.
• Work well with rapid changes and feel comfortable navigating through uncertain and ambiguous situations.
• Prior experience working in one or more areas such as Embedded Software, Cloud Networking, TCP/IP based products, or the Automotive industry.

Desired Skills:

• Technical background preferred in Networking, Automotive Infrastructure, Electrical, or Mechanical.
• Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Excel, or similar tools.
• Develop processes to cut through complexity; employ creative methods to navigate across hurdles both technical and organizational.
• Cultivate meaningful collaboration across teams and geographical boundaries.
• Experience in automotive design review and audit processes, such as ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE, or ASIL standards, will be a plus.

The posted salary range is a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate of what Sonatus ("Company") could reasonably expect to pay for a base salary for this position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs. The Company reserves the right to modify this range in the future, as needed, as market conditions change.

$184,000—$253,000 USD
