Job summary

Google Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Staff Technical Leader for Google SecOps to own and guide the data platform for an autonomous, agentic SOC.

The role focuses on building scalable, secure data platforms, leading architecture decisions, and mentoring engineers across teams. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software development, strong distributed systems expertise, and hands-on experience with Java, C/C++, and Python, plus 2 years in GenAI concepts to advance security operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development, with focus on building scalable distributed systems, data pipelines, real time streaming and batch processing systems.
• 8 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++ or Python.
• 2 years of experience with GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) or with GenAI-related concepts (language modeling, computer vision).

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of data platform building blocks to be consumed by AI SOC agents.
• Drive rapid prototyping and experimentation on various architectural options for the next gen data platform.
• Identify and implement architecture improvements that make our platform simpler, more robust, and more scalable to unleash the full potential of our customers’ data.
• Drive scale and reliability efforts of SecOps data platform.Leverage your expertise in SIEM products to understand customer pain points, propose solutions, build and deliver projects while working closely with product/customers to incorporatefeedback.
• Mentor and develop other team members. Write documentation, conduct code reviews, and share knowledge with other engineers.
