Job summary

Google LLC in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Technical Lead for YouTube Ads Surfaces and Experiences. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software across ads surfaces, with opportunities to switch teams as the business grows.

In this role you will drive architecture, lead critical projects, and mentor engineers while collaborating with YouTube teams to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions at a global scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in Java or C++.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.

Responsibilities

• Drive long-term engineering strategy, incorporating organizational business priorities and technological shifts.
• Own key technical decisions, guiding design tradeoffs, system health, and risk management.
• Identify system hotspots to remove productivity barriers and improve throughput.
• Invest in growing the next generation of technical leaders through coaching and mentorship.
• Work cross-functionally with YouTube organic, quality, and client infrastructure teams.
