Wisk Aero in Mountain View is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Staff Software Development Engineer to shape the software framework for safety-critical embedded systems in our AAM program.

You will guide architecture, champion DO-178C compliance, and mentor engineers across disciplines. This hybrid role focuses on C/C++ development for RTOS environments, system-level thinking, and collaboration with hardware, safety, and product teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical engineering with 15+ years in safety-critical software
• Alternative: 10 years with a Master’s, or PhD
• Experience on DO-178C-systems and high-integrity embedded software

Responsibilities

• Define, architect, and champion software framework for safety-critical embedded systems
• Lead design trades and select optimal solutions for performance, safety and cost
• Ensure DO-178C, DO-331, DO-332 compliance across the lifecycle
• Collaborate with product teams and mentor senior engineers
• Develop high-performance embedded code in C/C++ for RTOS
