Senior Staff Software Engineer – Risk Platform

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for a full-time, remote position. The role requires residence within 30 miles of Portland, ME; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; or the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.

Salary Range: $190,000 to $200,000 per year, negotiable based on experience, education, and location.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable, cloud-based risk management platforms.
• Architect solutions leveraging big data, AI, and modern DevSecOps practices.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and engineering teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Ensure cybersecurity and infosec compliance across risk technologies.
• Integrate risk solutions with existing and new products using modular architecture.
• Contribute to cloud and risk platform strategies across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of software development experience, especially in risk systems, fraud detection, or credit platforms.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), containers (Kubernetes), and serverless architectures.
• Proven ability to build and operate resilient, scalable systems.
• Knowledge of data pipelines, machine learning integration, and API-driven platforms.
• Experience in regulated industries is a plus.
• Understanding of cybersecurity controls, identity management, and threat detection systems is preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
