Job summary

Wwshemi, an early-stage AI manufacturing and supply chain company, is seeking a hands-on backend leader to build core services and data systems. You will develop AI infrastructure, implement LLM-based agents, and design scalable PostgreSQL schemas to coordinate manufacturing workflows.

Ideal candidates have 4–12 years of experience, strong TypeScript and Next.js skills, and full-stack capability in Python and Go. Remote work is supported in the U.S., with primary location in San Francisco.

About the Role

Join the platform team at an early-stage AI manufacturing and supply chain company. You will build the backend services, data systems, and AI infrastructure that coordinate manufacturing workflows and help move materials reliably through complex supply chains.

What You'll Do

• Design and scale backend services using Next.js API routes, background jobs, and serverless functions for high-throughput order processing.
• Build and productionize LLM-based agents, AI/ML infrastructure, and RAG patterns for quote analysis and supplier recommendations.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and complex queries for materials, quotes, orders, and supplier relationships.
• Architect event-driven pipelines for order state management, notifications, and synchronization across systems.
• Implement caching and rate-limiting strategies for reliable external API integrations.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability practices, and own backend incident response.

What We're Looking For

• Staff or Senior Staff-level experience, with a track record as a hands‑on 0-to-1 builder; 4 to 12 years of professional experience.
• Professional TypeScript experience and recent hands‑on experience with Next.js, plus full-stack experience across Python and Go.
• Strong data engineering experience building data pipelines and large‑scale processing systems.
• Direct experience developing AI products or infrastructure, including production LLM products, LLMOps, model evaluations, and familiarity with the AI/ML lifecycle.
• Experience with agent orchestration, RAG, and related AI infrastructure is valuable.
• AWS or other cloud infrastructure experience, including security and data privacy.
• Experience building internal tools and owning systems end to end, ideally in a startup or small-company environment.
• Manufacturing supply chain, procurement, or logistics domain knowledge is valuable.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $160,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
