Ladders is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Native Mobile to lead native mobile strategy for iOS and Android from a remote US base. You will drive large-scale migrations, build reusable automation, and craft a foundational framework unifying mobile teams. Work closely with leaders to remove blockers and align on major decisions.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in native mobile development (Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android).

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Native Mobile to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This is a senior technical leadership role focused on shaping native mobile strategy across iOS and Android. The engineer will drive large-scale migration efforts, build reusable automation to improve engineering efficiency, and establish a shared foundation that strengthens collaboration across mobile teams. This position also partners closely with product, design, and engineering leaders to clear blockers, align on major technical decisions, and improve the overall mobile development experience.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $253,895 – $298,700 annually

Responsibilities

• Define the technical strategy for advancing native mobile app development

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience in native mobile development (Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android), with strong proficiency in both platforms
• Demonstrated ability to drive outcomes across multiple teams, including impactful multi-phase migrations or rewrites
• Expertise in mobile performance optimization, including cold start, frame stability, and profiling
• Skill in influencing cross-functional teams and securing alignment on significant technical decisions
• Experience designing AI-native engineering workflows for scalable automation and efficiency in software processes
