Location: 100% Remote (Working at least 5 hours of overlap with MST and 1 on-site per quarter)
Comp range: Up to base $205K + Equity
Work Authorization: US Citizen or Green Card - Not open to Visa transfer
Openings: 2
Interview Process: 4 rounds!
Why you should join
- Enterprise tipping point: Runs in thousands of locations today. New enterprise deals put 20x its current site count in the pipeline.
- Funded and backed: Raised a ~$12M Series A from Next Coast Ventures and Rock Creek Capital. Advisors include the former President of Burger King and the inventor of variable-bitrate streaming.
- Untapped market: Over 70% of North American businesses have never used their on-site video data. Gets to build a durable company in a space nobody else is watching.
- Real applied AI ownership: You'll take people and vehicle analytics from concept to enterprise scale across thousands of stores. Expect big impact on a lean ~35-person team.
- Comp and flexibility: $185K-$205K base plus equity and top-tier health benefits. Engineering works fully remote with flexible PTO and one on-site day per quarter.
Must Have:
- Experience deploying machine learning or computer vision systems (with real-world application) on edge devices or the cloud
Required:
- 4+ years of experience as a senior/staff- level backend SWE at a Series A- D startup, with a deep understanding of Elixir
- Applying computer vision techniques to real-world situations: core segments are people detection, vehicle detection, and cross-camera tracking
- Proficiency in Elixir or a strong foundation in a functional programming language
- Experience taking applied computer vision or machine learning systems from concept to production deployment and scale
Nice to Have:
- Open-source contributions or personal projects exploring AI and modern coding stacks
Red Flag:
- Background in the government sector
- Executive or management profiles not positioned for hands-on IC work
What we're looking for:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer | Video Analytics with 4+ years of experience. You are a hands-on builder who has taken a vision or ML system from concept to real-world scale, and you will help the client deliver enterprise-grade video analytics as large enterprise deals bring 20x its current site count into the pipeline. This is applied vision engineering, not research. You will harden models so they ship and work reliably in thousands of messy, real-world stores.
What will you be doing?
- Ship people analytics (re-identification, cross-camera tracking, employee tagging, group detection) and drive-thru vehicle analytics for restaurant and retail clients
- Build systems that measure model performance across every new store, catch when results stop meeting standards, and refine the models
- Own vision tooling and testing infrastructure, and try out new model variants on the edge device and in the cloud
- Work across the full Elixir stack, from video ingestion and efficient inference to collecting results and alerting workflows
- Set install requirements for fulfillment partners so rollouts of 3,000+ sites go smoothly
Key Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, including startup experience (required)
- Proficiency in Elixir or a strong foundation in another functional language
- Has taken a CV or ML system from concept to real-world deployment, including evals, training pipelines, and signal refinement
- A top-decile AI power user who keeps exploring new tools; open-source work or side projects are a big plus
- US citizen or green card holder with at least 5 hours of overlap with Mountain Time
