Job Description Summary:
The PayPal Micro Business organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our team of highly skilled and motivated engineers. In this role, you will be integral to the development and enhancement of our core mobile products. You will work closely with product owners and team leaders to design, develop, and maintain high-quality applications that meet the needs of our users. We are looking for a proactive individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a dynamic, fast-growing environment. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of developing and launching scalable, user-friendly applications.

Job Description:
The ideal candidate must have broad experience in enterprise application design and architecture, as well as system performance and scalability, and possess knowledge of native mobile application architecture and data architecture.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Develop high-quality software design and architecture, spends most of the time coding, and efficiently produces exemplary and thoroughly tested code for the most challenging features. Works closely with Product Owners / Architects to develop, test, and deliver large-scale distributed systems. Produces clear, well-documented code for product features. Collaborate with internal teams to fix and improve products. Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting. Prototype ideas quickly using cutting-edge technologies. Solid communication skills & proven team player.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's/master's in computer science with 10+ years of experience in Software Development.
• Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, knowledge of object-oriented design, Design Patterns, and multi-threaded programming. Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Hands-on Java, Kotlin, and Swift Programming Expertise with a specific focus on large-scale distributed systems.
• Working experience with Java Spring Boot, Scala, Kotlin, Graph QL, Kafka, Splunk.
• Solid technical foundations and problem-solving skills.
• Good team player, able to effectively work across multiple teams on solutions that have complex dependencies and requirements in a fast-paced environment
• Motivated and passionate in delivering results, especially in the area of writing highly performant, reliable, and maintainable code.

• Knowledge of UI/UX standards and best practices.
• Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to finding and fixing issues.
• Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, product managers, and other engineers.
• Innovation: Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest iOS trends, techniques, and technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines: Experience setting up continuous integration and continuous deployment for iOS applications.
• Contributions to Open Source: Demonstrated contributions to open source projects or personal projects available on GitHub or similar platforms.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $169,500 to $291,500

For the majority of employees, PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace, ensuring that you equally have the benefits and conveniences of both locations.
