Affirm is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to define and lead technical excellence across core consumer experiences, starting with marketplace and search. You will shape technical strategy across full‑stack teams and coordinate with stakeholders to build scalable, reliable, high‑performing solutions.

This role requires strong leadership, project management, and a customer‑first mindset to unlock large-scale product features and uphold engineering excellence across our marketplace domain.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience across the stack with backend architecture improvements.
• Experience leading critical projects and steering multiple engineering teams.
• Proven track record in developing technical strategy that improves reliability and responsiveness.
• Project or people management experience showing influence and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction and long-term roadmap for marketplace, search, ads platform, and app experiences.
