Job Description

The Opportunity:

This position is within the Heart Failure division.

This Senior Staff RF Engineer will primarily work on a system that remotely monitors changes in pulmonary artery (PA) pressure, an early indicator of worsening heart failure, to aid physicians in preventing worsening conditions, lowering mortality rates, and improving quality of life for heart failure patients. The role is within the R&D organization, responsible for developing and releasing new components while supporting current products.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a team dedicated to delivering innovative heart failure device products to assist patients and clinicians in managing heart failure.
  • Conduct bench and preclinical studies to support product development, concept feasibility, and regulatory submissions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of electronic designs for heart failure devices.
  • Draft test protocols and reports.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute activities supporting project goals independently.
  • Support design reviews and develop risk management documentation.
  • Understand and adhere to quality and regulatory requirements, including FDA and ISO regulations.
  • Comply with FDA regulations, company policies, operating procedures, and task assignments.
  • Maintain positive communication and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing and delivering results within a team and as an individual in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in collaborating with stakeholders, end-users, and technical teams.
  • Strong organizational, follow-up, and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex topics clearly.
  • RF circuit design skills, especially translating requirements into designs/specifications in the sub-GHz range.
  • Modeling and simulation experience in circuit and free-space domains.
  • Proficiency with simulation tools like Comsol, Ansys, HFSS, CST, or similar, for design and debugging.
  • Demonstrated initiative and critical thinking in addressing design challenges.
  • Ability to plan, execute, analyze, and document scientific studies.
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data statistically.

Qualifications:

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • 10+ years of experience in design, testing, manufacturing, or engineering support.
  • Experience in medical devices.
  • Experience with electronic document control systems (e.g., Windchill).
  • Experience working with cross-functional, geographically diverse teams.
