Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Staff Project Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary engineering programs spanning software, FPGA, hardware, and manufacturing. This role requires strong systems/software engineering background and experience guiding hardware-software programs in high-ambiguity environments.

You will develop integrated schedules, manage risks, and coordinate cross-functional teams to move programs from concept through development and into manufacturing release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, CS, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field; Master’s or PMP a plus.
• 10+ years in complex, multi-disciplinary system development; 4+ years driving technical execution or program schedule for hardware-software programs.
• Experience with MS Project or Smartsheet; familiarity with AI/agentic tools for dashboards and execution tracking.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the integrated program schedule across software, FPGA, hardware, and manufacturing workstreams.
• Identify, track, and manage cross-team dependencies to prevent downstream blockages.
• Own the risk and issue register for technical execution and drive mitigation plans.
• Partner with Software, FPGA, and Hardware Tech Leads to translate architecture into actionable tasks and milestones.
• Track progress and re-plan or reallocate resources to keep milestones on schedule.
• Manage third-party and subcontractor deliverables with defined criteria and dates.
• Serve as the primary technical execution point between Software, FPGA/Hardware, Manufacturing/Test, and Program Management.
• Drive program-level coordination and milestone reviews focused on schedule health and blockers.
• Support transition from development/testing into manufacturing release with proper documentation and test results.
• Report status and forecasts to engineering leadership and Program Management.
