Job description

Every customer relationship starts with a risk decision. When a business signs up to accept payments, run payroll, or pay bills, we decide in real time who to welcome instantly, who to verify, and who to keep out. Those decisions continue across the life of the account as customers grow and their needs change. Each unnecessary check costs us good customers. Each missed signal costs us real dollars.

We're hiring a Senior Staff Product Manager on the Account Risk team, accountable for welcoming more good customers, faster, while holding the line on fraud and compliance. You'll own how rules, AI models, ecosystem signals, and third-party data combine into automated decisions across the account lifecycle, and you'll tune the trade-off between loss and customer friction with precision.

This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who has owned risk or funnel outcomes before and wants to push decisioning to its AI-native next generation. Our partners are cross-functional, globally distributed, and domain experts. Success demands customer obsession, innovative solutions, and analytical rigor in equal measure.

Responsibilities
  • Own the funnel outcomes: set and deliver the strategy to hit annual goals for approval rates, conversion, fraud loss, and false-positive , and churn rates across the account lifecycle. You own the result. The roadmap is how you get there.
  • Own the decisioning strategy: decide how rules, models, verification steps, and data signals combine into real-time decisions on who gets in and what they can do.
  • Remove friction with precision: expand auto-approval, progressive verification, and silent remediation so good customers rarely feel the risk system working.
  • Advance AI-native decisioning: push automated, real-time decision flows forward on speed, quality, explainability, and the guardrails that govern them.
  • Expand the data foundation: evaluate, integrate, and operationalize third-party vendors and ecosystem data; own quality, coverage, and cost trade-offs in service of decision accuracy.
  • Own the scoreboard: instrument and report approval and decline rates, loss, insult, churn, and decision quality; align leaders on trade-offs and progress to goal.
  • Align and deliver: build strong relationships across engineering, AI science, risk policy, compliance, and operations; ruthlessly prioritize; set delivery timelines.

Qualifications
  • 6+ years in Risk Product Management, including sustained ownership of complex, technical, multi-team initiatives with accountability for measurable business outcomes.
  • Proven track record owning risk, fraud, identity, or onboarding decisioning outcomes: you've moved loss, approval, conversion, or false-positive metrics and understand the math behind balancing them.
  • Working knowledge of onboarding and compliance controls: KYC/KYB, identity verification, AML.
  • Deep partnership with data science and ML teams: you've helped develop, evaluate, and productionize models, and reason fluently about features, precision/recall, and model trade-offs.
  • Experience with data vendors and pipelines: evaluating, integrating, and operationalizing third-party and internal data for decisioning.
  • Strong technical fluency: real-time decisioning, rules and policy engines, APIs, and experimentation.
  • Quantitative rigor: comfortable with analytics and A/B testing to size opportunities, set targets, and prove impact against goals.
  • Exceptional communication: you translate risk and reward trade-offs into clear narratives for executives and win alignment as a senior individual contributor.
  • Experience in payments, fintech, e-commerce, or another high-scale financial domain.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
