Job summary

Synaptics Incorporated in San Jose, CA, is hiring a Senior Staff Product Engineer to lead product engineering from NPI through high-volume manufacturing and sustaining. You will coordinate across Design, Test, Validation, Quality, Reliability, Operations, Foundry, OSAT, Marketing, and Customer Quality teams, driving qualification, cost, and schedule objectives.

The role requires 12+ years in semiconductor product engineering, strong cross-functional execution, and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of semiconductor Product Engineering experience.
• Experience owning semiconductor products from NPI through production ramp and lifecycle.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across design, test, validation and manufacturing.
• Knowledge of PVT characterization, guard-banding, and qualification reports.
• Track record of yield improvement, test time reduction, and cost reduction.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 10%.
• Familiarity with automotive quality expectations (AEC-Q100) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own product engineering execution from NPI to mass production and sustainment.
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive product readiness and lifecycle execution.
• Define and drive characterization plans across process, voltage, temperature, frequency, power.
• Drive yield improvement and manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
• Partner with Design and Test on DFT and test coverage.
• Validate test programs, hardware, and production flows.
• Mentor Product Engineers across projects and product families.
• Communicate effectively in English and lead cross-functional meetings.
