Job summary

Eka Robotics in Cambridge, MA is seeking an experienced embedded engineer to help build an advanced, integrated manipulation system for fast, general, reliable robots.

You will lead firmware for microcontrollers, develop power electronics, and implement high-performance embedded software with RTOS, SPI, I2C and UART, collaborating with hardware and ML teams. The role requires 5+ years in robotics or consumer products and a strong background in C/C++ and Python.

Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years bringing robotic products to market.
  • Proficient in C, C++, and Python.
  • Strong background in power electronics design and debugging.
  • Experience in firmware development, debugging, and testing for microcontrollers.
  • Advanced knowledge of embedded RTOS, concurrency primitives, and bare-metal concepts such as ISRs.
  • Familiarity with bus protocols: I2C, UART, SPI, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering efforts for custom robots, including system architecture for communications and power electronics.
  • Design custom power electronics, including motor controllers, battery management systems and power distribution.
  • Integrate sensing and cameras.
  • Oversee PCBA bringup, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Architect, design, and implement software for high-performance embedded systems.

    • Prototyping, iteration and testing
  • Design custom power electronics, including motor controllers, battery management systems and power distribution.
  • Integrate sensing and cameras
  • Oversee PCBA bringup, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Architect, design, and implement software solutions for high performance and reliable embedded systems
