ZT Systems in Texas is hiring a hands-on Senior Staff Network Engineer to support LAN, WAN, wireless, and voice infrastructure across office, manufacturing, lab, and warehouse environments. You will troubleshoot at the packet level, run production changes with validation and rollback steps, and partner with network architects on design plans.

The role requires 8+ years of enterprise networking experience, strong TCP/IP, OSPF/BGP, QoS, VoIP, and Palo Alto/Cisco/Arista/Aruba expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years hands-on enterprise networking experience.
• Advanced LAN/WAN troubleshooting across multi-site environments.
• Packet-level troubleshooting with Wireshark or similar tools.
• VoIP, QoS, voice VLANs, and PoE knowledge.
• OSPF, BGP, STP, LACP, HSRP/VRRP on Cisco/Arista/Aruba.
• Experience with Palo Alto or comparable firewalls and IPsec VPNs.
• Copper/fiber cabling, optics, and on-site cabling skills.
• Production changes under formal change/approval processes.
• Proven problem spotting and proactive fixes with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Analyze packet captures using Wireshark, tcpdump, and SPAN, and correlate with routing tables, firewall sessions, and logs to find root cause.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and wireless networks across multiple sites incl. routers, switches, firewalls, and ISP circuits.
• Support voice, video, and data services, including VoIP phones and video conferencing equipment.
• Prepare production changes for approval with implementation, validation, and rollback steps, then execute them.
• Serve as Tier 3 escalation for complex incidents and address recurring issues.
• Perform onsite work such as racking, cabling, optics, and MDF/IDF troubleshooting; maintain diagrams and incident records.
