Qualifications

WHAT WE'RE DOING

Join the EADGE-T team and help modernize an integrated air and missile defense and air battle management capability for the United Arab Emirates. As part of the EADGE-T UAE Tech Refresh, you'll lead the modernization of the communications infrastructure supporting one of Lockheed Martin's premier international defense programs while collaborating directly with an international customer.

THE WORK

As a Senior Staff Network Communications Engineer, you'll serve as the network technical authority for the UAE Tech Refresh, leading the design, integration, security, and sustainment of mission‑critical communications networks.

Working across systems, software, hardware, cybersecurity, and integration teams, you'll establish network architecture, define engineering standards, and guide technical decisions that ensure secure, resilient, and scalable network solutions from design through deployment.

PLEASE NOTE
  • This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
  • This position may require travel to customer sites throughout the United Arab Emirates.
  • This position may occasionally support integration and test events during overnight or weekend hours.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical authority for the communications network architecture, leading the development of secure, resilient, and scalable network solutions supporting mission‑critical air and missile defense capabilities.
  • Lead the design, integration, and implementation of enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, server infrastructure, and WAN connectivity, while ensuring compliance with applicable DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Establish network engineering standards, infrastructure policies, and technical roadmaps covering Quality of Service (QoS), IP addressing, cybersecurity, encryption, authentication, network continuity, and monitoring.
  • Drive network performance, resiliency, and operational readiness through capacity planning, traffic engineering, proactive monitoring, and resolution of complex network and cybersecurity issues.
  • Champion Zero Trust architecture and cybersecurity best practices by implementing NIST 800‑53 controls, network segmentation, centralized security management, and secure communications across multiple security domains.
  • Lead network automation and configuration management initiatives using modern automation frameworks and infrastructure‑as‑code methodologies to improve deployment consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, customer engagements, engineering documentation, and mentorship of fellow engineers while serving as the program's network subject matter expert.

EADGE‑T is a geographically dispersed Agile engineering team delivering the UAE Tech Refresh. Our engineers collaborate across systems, software, hardware, cybersecurity, networking, and integration disciplines to deliver next‑generation air and missile defense capabilities for an international customer.

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you'll influence technical strategy, solve complex engineering challenges, and help deliver capabilities that directly support critical national security missions.

Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Network Communications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Cyber Security
  • 7+ years of hands on network engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior/lead capacity on complex, high availability networks.
Certifications
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE (Routing & Switching or Data Center) or Juniper JNCIA (preferred)/JNCIP/JNCIE, Arista EOS, etc.).
  • CompTIA Network+, Security+
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, VLAN tagging, RSTP, LAG, VTEP, BGP, OSPF, GRE, MPLS, TLS, IPsec, MACsec.

Proficiency with network hardware (Juniper (preferred), Cisco, Palo Alto, DELL, Arista)

  • Strong scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with network logging tools (ArcSight, Splunk, other Syslog tools)
  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, IDS/IPS, VPNs, PKI, stateful/stateless firewall with ALG, and symmetric/asymmetric encryption methods, cryptographic hash functions and familiarity of NSA CSFC capabilities & algorithms
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret Clearanc
Desired Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in Network Communications as a network device SME
  • Experience with Juniper EX, QFX, SRX, and MX products

Network Management: Juniper Apstra, Mist, Ansible (configuration deployment), Syslog, NTPv4, NETConf, SNMPv2/v3

  • Virtual Hypervisor & Micro Services: VMWare VCF (understanding of vSwitch and vSAN, VM interfaces), K8 (understanding of Kubernetes and containers’ network interfaces and ports)
  • Experience with high capacity fiber optics MMF and SM i.e. 10/25/40/100 Gbps data rates

SME experience with Wireshark/PCAP and/or TCPDUMP/LIBPCAP packet analysis

  • SME experience with Network Monitoring tools. Must have experience with SNMP v2c/v3
  • SME experience with DISA network device STIGS including Network Policy
Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00
