The Opportunity

Our Mobile Engineering team is growing and we're looking for a hands-on Mobile Engineer to join us in our mission to help people get their best sleep by helping build features for our mobile app and platform. The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer who is passionate about using technology to solve problems for consumers.

This role is remote-friendly but must be based in the U.S. or Canada. Hatch is based in California, so we ask that you’re available during PST/PDT hours.

What You’ll Do

Within 3 Months:

• Learn our application architecture and development process by building and shipping features & improvements.
• Rotate amongst our 3 Pillars to understand Hatch as a whole.
• Understand business and department goals, and develop empathy for our customers.
• Work closely with product management to scope, plan, and rapidly develop features.
• Partner with management and implementation teams to learn our processes.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify opportunities for improvement.

Within 6 Months:

• Develop and ship medium-sized code projects to production, maintaining and optimizing mobile applications.
• Lead a project from inception to completion.
• Understand and debug issues spanning app, cloud, and firmware domains.
• Partner with Product and stakeholders to help shape product scope.
• Collaborate with teams to prioritize work efforts that benefit users and stakeholders.
• Develop long-term solutions while being mindful of short-term priorities.

What You’ll Bring:

• Strong leadership skills in managing projects from inception to production.
• Desire to engage with users through dogfooding and user tests.
• Proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, concurrency, and Swift Package Manager.
• Experience structuring a large iOS app with multiple developers.
• Experience with CI and delivery tools (Fastlane, TestFlight, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, async, and cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
• Passion for exploring new technologies that improve our products.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
