Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Senior Staff ML Ops Engineer to lead the architecture and operational excellence of enterprise AI platforms in Santa Clara, CA. You will partner with data scientists, infrastructure teams, and product leaders to accelerate AI deployment while ensuring reliability and compliance.

Responsibilities include building scalable ML infrastructure, implementing robust CI/CD, and guiding a team of ML and software engineers through design and governance reviews.

Qualifications

• This role requires deep experience building ML infrastructure for experiment tracking, model training, data versioning, annotation tools, model serving, monitoring and observability.
• Experience with GenAI and Agentic AI development infrastructure including grounding, RAG, MCP and prompt engineering.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization/orchestration, CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory/privacy standards (HIPAA, GDPR) and SaMD guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect a highly available, secure, scalable ML infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Lead CI/CD workflows for ML models including testing, rollout, rollback, and governance.
• Mentor ML and SW engineers; establish coding standards and conduct design reviews.
• Collaborate with data scientists, infrastructure teams, and business leaders to align AI strategy.
