Reddit is seeking a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to define and accelerate modeling leverage—enhancing model quality and velocity—across the entire modeling loop with agentic AI tooling like Claude and Cursor. You will lead technically, shaping practices across teams and ensuring rigorous evaluation of models.

You’ll collaborate with product, data science, ML infrastructure, and engineering to align modeling improvements with user outcomes, while mentoring engineers and advancing

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in ML engineering with production impact.
• Senior Staff-level technical leadership with cross-team influence.
• Deep modeling expertise across data, objectives, architectures, optimization, evaluation, and experimentation.
• Concrete examples of using agentic AI or AI coding tools to improve ML outcomes.
• Ability to design guardrails and evaluations for trustworthy autonomous workflows.
• Strong Python coding and fluency with modern ML frameworks and data tooling.
• Clear, concise communication and collaborative leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced ML models and agentic workflows to design, train, evaluate, and improve them.
• Use Claude, Cursor, and similar AI tools to investigate model behavior and automate analyses.
• Build loops for data/label analysis, feature/embedding development, architecture comparison, and hyperparameter tuning.
• Design evaluation harnesses measuring model outcomes, reproducibility, cost, latency, and quality.
• Partner with product, data science, ML infra, and engineering teams to tie modeling improvements to outcomes.
• Set technical direction, mentor engineers, and raise the bar for modeling rigor.
