Job summary

Reddit is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the GenAI Platform vision, architecture, and operating model for scalable AI products across the company. You will own the LLM Gateway, API design, reliability, and cross-team collaboration to deliver robust GenAI capabilities.

You will work with engineering, product, and leadership to drive strategy, execution, and long-term evolution, with a strong emphasis on scalability and developer experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in ML/AI platform engineering or cloud AI deployment.
• Proven track record leading AI platforms at scale.
• Strong Kubernetes and orchestration experience in production.
• Deep cloud experience (AWS, GCP) and IaC (Terraform).
• Proficiency with Go and Python and ML tooling.
• Excellent communication for non-technical stakeholders.
• Focus on scalability, reliability, and developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Reddit’s GenAI Platform.
• Define platform architecture and operating model for scalable GenAI products.
• Drive unified LAG Gateway strategy for internal/external LLMs via consistent APIs.
• Set direction for rate/token limits, intelligent failover, and production resilience.
• Shape Reddit’s enterprise-grade RAG and agentic AI workflows.
• Own end-to-end platform strategy from concept to production adoption.
• Drive MLOps/LLMOps standards across CI/CD, testing, versioning, evaluation, lifecycle.
• Define observability, governance, and operational excellence across GenAI systems.
• Partner with engineering, product, and leadership to align investments with priorities.
• Champion scalability, reliability, performance, and developer experience.
