Job summary

ENSCO, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to collaborate with Government leaders on a critical Satellite Control (TT&C) capability.

This role focuses on turning urgent mission needs into a clear acquisition path, balancing architecture, cybersecurity, and production scalability, while driving rapid decision velocity. The candidate will lead cross-functional teams, define proof points, and articulate option papers and roadmaps to executives, ensuring timely, field-ready solutions and

Qualifications

Bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, software engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering management, or a closely related technical discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
Proven ability to convert urgent mission outcomes into an executable acquisition pathway and plan.
Experience leading acquisition strategy during concept maturation, pre-prototype planning, or rapid prototyping.
Ability to drive portfolio trade-offs among mission effect, performance, cost, schedule, and risk.
Strong written and verbal communication to senior leaders and defensible decision records.

Responsibilities

Convert mission urgency into acquisition action and define outcomes, targets, constraints, and evidence needed before commitment.
Set the acquisition strategy across portfolio position, pathways, contracting options, and funding milestones.
Drive portfolio trade-space decisions on mission effect, cost, schedule, and integration complexity.
Design rapid learning campaigns with focused experiments and exit criteria to expose key risk.
Build modular approaches with open interfaces to preserve options and reduce vendor lock-in.
Advance commercial-first options and explore non-traditional sourcing to accelerate outcomes.
Align mission architecture to fielding, data flows, cybersecurity, and sustainment considerations.
Create decision packages and roadmaps with risk views and portfolio measures.
Synchronize cross-functional teams across acquisition, contracting, finance, operations, engineering, and industry.
Lead execution by removing blockers, assigning owners, and maintaining accountability through milestones.
