Job summary

GEICO in Palo Alto is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Engineer to work with our Distinguished Engineers and other senior staff to innovate, build, and optimize systems, solving critical problems and delivering high-quality products.

You will help deploy, scale, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, while implementing strong security measures and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance across the tech stack.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional PaaS and IaaS experience.
• 10+ years of experience with Linux.
• 8+ years in architecture and design.
• 6+ years with open source projects (desired).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the security, availability, and performance of containerized applications.
• Contribute to the development of best practices and standards in container runtime technology.
• Play a hands-on role in deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management of containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and related orchestration platforms.
• Collaborate effectively with other technical professionals and teams to ensure seamless integration of container runtimes with the overall technology stack.
• Implement and enforce security measures for container runtimes to protect against vulnerabilities and threats.
• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure the reliability and efficiency of container runtime solutions.
