Job summary

DDN is seeking a Sr Staff Software Engineer to lead the ongoing development of a high-performance, S3-compliant file system. You will design, implement, and optimize core storage components in C/C++ on Linux, collaborating with teams worldwide.

The role requires 12+ years of system software experience, strong knowledge of kernel principles, and the ability to mentor junior developers while delivering under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of system software development experience.
• Expert knowledge of C/C++.
• Excellent Linux development and deployment skills including FS development.
• Understanding OS principles and kernel architecture.
• Knowledge of open-source toolchains: gcc, gdb, git.
• Experience designing and developing parallel programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, extend, and improve our S3 implementation.
• Design and develop in C/C++ under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Define and articulate technical designs with the appropriate details.
• Full application development from design to testing to deployment.
• Participate in technical reviews throughout development.
• Architecture and troubleshooting of system-level components, especially the file system.
• Undertake research-based tasks and derive solutions from results.
• Mentor junior developers.
• Support production deployment and defect resolution promptly.
