Senior Staff Engineer - Finance Data Specialist (Remote)

GEICO is seeking experienced Finance Data specialists to support the build-out of a Finance data lake/mart. The role involves coaching business teams and technologists, partnering with engineering teams to establish a new Finance Data Mart, and leveraging a strong background in Finance Systems, ERP, and Data Warehouse systems.

The Senior Staff Engineer, Finance Data Specialist will report to the Senior Director of Finance Technologies and focus on building and maintaining a Finance Data repository to support FP&A processing, analytics, and serve as a reconciled source of truth for financial data.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with finance and technology leaders, designing data ingestion and transformation solutions, supporting cloud data solutions, and ensuring compliance with SOX and audit standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, or Workday, and supporting Finance Data Lakes/Warehouses. Financial Services industry experience is required.

Position Responsibilities

• Utilize deep functional and technical expertise to support current and future needs.
• Lead design sessions, collaborate across teams, and develop technology roadmaps.
• Design and maintain data ingestion and transformation processes using ETL/ELT tools.
• Support development of analytical solutions for Revenue and Expense data.
• Engage with stakeholders to align project goals with business objectives.
• Implement governance frameworks for SOX and audit compliance.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of Finance Systems experience with ERP solutions (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, Workday).
• 5+ years supporting FP&A applications and Finance Data Lakes/Warehouses.
• Proficiency in Data Modeling, SQL, and ETL/ELT tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep Finance domain expertise, especially in FP&A processes.
• Experience with Revenue or Expense analytical tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong communication skills to work with senior leaders.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.
