Job summary

IBM Software is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Kora Storage team. You will lead architecture and implementation of a scalable, multi-tenant storage engine, tackling deep systems challenges from state management to fault tolerance.

You will mentor engineers, shape core roadmaps, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver durable, high-performance data streams and reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend and/or infrastructure development experience.
• Experience designing and building large-scale, distributed storage systems.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems concepts, including fault tolerance, consistency, and scalability.
• Solid systems-level understanding (disk, network, operating systems, etc).
• Strong leadership skills with mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a highly available, multi-tenant storage engine for Kora.
• Set engineering standards and drive end-to-end technical solutions.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams for seamless integration.
• Mentor engineers and shape long-term technical direction.
