Job summary

Mark43 seeks experienced Staff Engineers to own features end-to-end in our cloud-based public safety software. You’ll work on robust server-side solutions using Java, .NET, and a modern stack, addressing scale, security, and reliability challenges.

You’ll guide teammates, design systems, and contribute to open source practices while advancing in management or Technical Lead paths. You’ll collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and engineers to deliver scalable features, write concise docs,

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience using Java, .NET, or other server-side languages in production.
• Experience shipping software at enterprise scale and working with cloud-based architectures.
• Strong systems design, architecture, and technical decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand requirements with Product Manager for new features.
• Build and deploy features using Java, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch.
• Improve backend architecture to meet scale and reliability needs.
• Explain technical constraints to Product Designers and stakeholders.
• Write clear technical documentation and maintain code quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering practices.
