Job summary

Bloom Energy in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer - CFD/Thermal to advance cooling for energy servers and site installations. You will conduct CFD/thermal studies, guide enclosure thermal management from concept to production, and report results to cross-functional teams.

This role requires a MS or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace, deep CFD fundamentals, 5+ years of industry CFD experience in electronics or data-center cooling, and proficiency with ANSYS Icepak, Fluent, or Flotherm.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering.
• Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer and CFD.
• 5+ years CFD in Thermal management for electronics/data-center cooling.
• Proficient in CFD tools: ANSYS Icepak, Fluent, Flotherm.
• Able to utilize first principles for quick calculations and CFD models.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter and quick learner.

Location: This position will be fully Onsite based in San Jose, CA

Skills and Experience:

• MS or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering.
• Deep understanding of the fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer and CFD.
• 5+ years of industry experience utilizing CFD in Thermal management, in Electronics/Data center cooling.
• Highly skilled in CFD tools: ANSYS Icepak(preferred)/Fluent/Flotherm.
• Able to utilize first principles for quick calculations and CFD models.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a timely manner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter and a quick learner.
