Overview

AMP is building a SaaS-like platform to transform legacy applications into modern, microservices-based architectures powered by MongoDB. The platform combines a “brain” that orchestrates multi‑agent reasoning with a “hands” deployment and modernization toolset, designed to run anywhere while accommodating strict client security and network constraints. The role is a technical leader who will define strategy and direction across AMP pillars, guide the engineering team, reduce deployment friction, meet customer compliance requirements, and shape how global enterprises leverage Generative AI.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development and operations experience, building platforms and distributable infrastructure.
• Deep experience building data warehouses and core components for data processing systems.
• Hands‑on experience using GenAI to build complex, large‑scale systems and a clear understanding of what GenAI can best achieve.
• Security‑first design knowledge, especially regarding untrusted code execution, fine‑grain access control, and rigorous input validation.
• 2+ years of experience leading, coaching, and mentoring an engineering team to high‑impact results.
• Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills and a strong desire to collaborate cross‑functionally.
• Strong time and project management skills, with the ability to make realistic assessments of project cost and complexity.
• Curiosity, a positive attitude, and a drive to continue learning, particularly to build AI skillsets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Deliver thought leadership, execute AMP roadmaps, and influence how enterprises leverage GenAI.
• Lead the design and implementation of a sophisticated orchestration layer that manages authentication, telemetry, and workflow of modernization stages.
• Leverage GenAI to build reliable, scalable building blocks that are extendable and easy to assemble into an autonomous workflow.
• Collaborate with MongoDB product teams to ensure modernized applications integrate seamlessly with customers’ database ecosystems.
• Act as a hands‑on leader, guiding technical challenges related to GenAI usage for core building blocks of the modernization toolset.

Success Measures

Within the first three months:
- Fully ramped up on architecture, business domain, and deployment constraints.
- Established as the technical leader within the team, actively driving strategy and decisions.
- Begun collaborating with AMP org leaders and product counterparts on the orchestration framework and workflow components.
- Developed a comprehensive grasp of all AMP pillars and their roadmap.

Within six months:
- Influenced product and engineering leads on key technical decisions and set clear direction for the team.
- Led the team to substantial progress on critical milestones, enabling the roadmap to land smoothly.
- Owned and delivered key pieces of the orchestration framework.
- Served as a role model and strategic leader for the AMP org.
- Contributed to engineering excellence standards and mentored team members.

Within 12 months:
- Recognized as the strategic engineering leader inside the AMP organization and beyond.
- Assisted senior leadership in defining the long‑term technical strategy and roadmap.
- Delivered a stable, production‑ready platform supporting autonomous modernization workflows for Field Engineering teams.
- Propagated engineering excellence as a core tenet of culture and operations.
- Developed tech leads within the team, fostering growth and shaping AMP into a self‑driving high‑performing team.
