Job summary

Cohere is seeking a senior member for the Agent Code team to advance code LLMs and agent systems, collaborating across research and engineering. You will push the boundaries of frontier models in an enterprise context with minimal human oversight.

The role blends hands-on development and research, with access to world-class compute and data resources. Offices exist globally, and remote-friendly collaboration is supported.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field with publications in top-tier venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP).

Responsibilities

• Stay up-to-date with code LLMs, agents, and related fields; implement novel ideas into systems.
• Design scalable strategies to train code models and deploy agent frameworks.
• Collaborate with pretraining team to create SFT trajectories and RL algorithms.
• Hillclimb on benchmarks and design new ones reflecting enterprise needs.
• Lead experiments on state-of-the-art compute infrastructure for frontier LLMs.
