Capital One’s Richmond-based team seeks a Sr Distinguished Data Engineer (Senior Director IC) to shape the technical strategy for data pipelines and sharing across business lines. You will write Python, SQL, Java or Scala and drive platform scalability, performance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters’ preferred.
• 9+ years of data engineering experience with 5+ years in data architecture.
• 3+ years building applications in AWS and 3+ years big data on AWS.
• Experience with Python, SQL or Scala and at least one of Java.
• Ability to lead, mentor and influence across large teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical strategy for data pipelines and data sharing at enterprise scale.
• Architect, implement and optimize Lakehouse platforms and data systems.
