Job summary

Bloom Energy is seeking a Sr. Staff Cloud Engineer to design, build, automate, and operate scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure supporting production workloads, AI/data platforms, and modern DevOps ecosystems.

Based in San Jose, CA, you will lead security, reliability, and automation initiatives across AWS and multi-cloud environments. You will mentor teams, drive IaC adoption with Terraform and CloudFormation, and collaborate with Security, Compliance, and Engineering to raise standards and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS, Eng, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in cloud/infrastructure/DevOps roles; leadership experience.
• Deep AWS expertise; multi-cloud experience preferred.
• Hands-on with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Proficient in CI/CD and DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
• Strong networking, security, and IAM knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure for production workloads and AI/data platforms.
• Lead IaC adoption and automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, and related tools.
• Develop standards and reusable infrastructure modules to improve consistency and reliability.
• Build observability via metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting.
• Push for SRE practices including SLIs, error budgets, incident reviews, and capacity planning.
• Guide security, compliance, and governance in provisioning and deployment workflows.
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations for critical systems.
