Coinbase, Inc. is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Blockchain Platform team. You will define the technical vision across nodes, wallets, indexing, and asset lifecycles, shaping how Coinbase connects every product to the crypto economy at global scale.

You will lead multi-team architectural efforts, drive reliability, and apply AI-driven automation to reduce toil while maintaining security, auditability, and performance. This is a remote-first role with in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with recent staff-plus level responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience with one or more blockchain protocols at node or protocol level.
• Proven track record leading large-scale multi-team architectural initiatives.
• Experience applying AI or agent-based automation to reduce operational toil.
• Use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows and cost/quality.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-quarter technical strategy for Blockchain Platform (nodes, wallets, indexing, assets).
• Architect and evolve core platform infrastructure for high availability, low latency, cost efficiency, and security at global scale.
• Lead end-to-end design and rollout of large cross-team architectural initiatives (wallet stack, indexing, asset identifiers).
• Set engineering standards for correctness, security, reliability, testing, and observability across crypto asset ops.
• Own data-driven reliability improvements using observability signals to close platform gaps.
• Represent Blockchain Platform in executive and cross-org forums, securing buy-in for high-impact bets.
