Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior / Staff Backend Engineer, Maps to own the geocoding backend and data foundation, focusing on reliability, scale, and data quality. You will build data pipelines, contribute to API development, and help ensure the platform can handle very high request volumes.

Remote work is available for US-based candidates. Compensation ranges from $150,000 to $180,000 annually, with stock options and comprehensive benefits including health coverage and PTO.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in software engineering, focusing on backend technologies.
• Proficiency in Scala and Python for building data pipelines.
• Experience with Rust for backend service development.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and API design.
• Interest in customer interaction and product feedback.
• Experience with high throughput applications, particularly in SaaS.
• Familiarity with geospatial infrastructure is a plus.

For our client, we are seeking a Senior / Staff Backend Engineer, Maps to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will own the backend systems and data foundation that support a geocoding platform, with a strong focus on reliability, scale, and data quality. You will build and maintain data pipelines, contribute to API development, and help ensure the platform can process very high request volumes efficiently. This position also partners closely with customers and internal stakeholders to improve product performance through feedback and data enrichment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 annually
