Job summary

BlackLine seeks a Staff Software Engineer to design and build next-generation data connectors and cloud backend components. You will lead a team, mentor engineers, and solve complex integration challenges across ERP, banking, tax, and subledger systems.

You will drive architecture decisions, ensure scalability and security, and collaborate with product teams in an agile environment to deliver value-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of professional experience in building Web scale multi-tenant SaaS backend platforms.
• Expert in one or more object-oriented programming languages (Java/C#/C++).
• Experience with data integration, ETL tools, and scalable distributed systems.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in design, development, testing and delivery of scalable backend services.
• Lead architecture discussions and drive technical decisions with trade-offs.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and influence best practices.
• Ensure security, performance, and maintainability of distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product and other teams to translate requirements into concrete solutions.
• Maintain high standards of software quality and drive automation and CI/CD practices.
