Veritone, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in robust backend architecture and distributed systems to guide technical direction and establish engineering best practices.

You will partner with product and infra teams to build scalable, auto-scaling applications and deliver AI-driven platform integrations at production scale.

This role emphasizes design, coding, testing, and driving reliability across multi-tier environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience architecting high-performance, reliable systems in distributed environments.
• Experience with modern languages and frameworks and solid OO/FP design principles.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to end-to-end system design focusing on scalability, security, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Navigate ambiguity to solve complex, novel problems within previously untackled spaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive architectural alignment and influence shared goals.
• Define technical direction, establish best practices, and architect long-term roadmaps.
• Build, deploy, and maintain cost-effective, high-speed applications meeting customer needs.
• Partner with product, design, and infrastructure teams to scale applications and services.
• Improve application reliability by working with Operations to scale and monitor services.
• Design, develop, test, and debug high-performance code for mission-critical business apps.
• Analyze and optimize frontend and backend codebases to maximize efficiency.
