Job summary

ARTO is a clinical-stage biotechnology company leveraging generative AI and experimental science to develop therapeutic antibodies. We are seeking a hands-on Senior/Staff AI Scientist to advance antibody-design capabilities, developing and applying ML methods to design and evaluate antibodies and working across AI Research, AI Engineering, Computational Biology and Protein Engineering teams.

PhD or equivalent experience in ML or related field, with at least three years applying ML to protein

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent experience in Machine Learning, Computational Biology, or a related field.
• At least three years of research applying ML to protein design or related area; industry experience is advantageous.
• Strong Python and PyTorch skills, with experience designing, implementing and evaluating AI algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI/ML methods to support the design and evaluation of therapeutic antibodies.
• Explore approaches including generative modelling, protein structure prediction, molecular modelling and design scoring.
• Develop test-time compute strategies to improve the quality and efficiency of antibody-design workflows.
• Apply multi-objective optimisation to balance therapeutic design goals and address target-specific challenges.
• Analyse computational predictions and experimental results to improve design and evaluation methods.
• Work closely with teams across AI Research, AI Engineering, Computational Biology and Protein Engineering.
• Publish high-impact research and communicate findings clearly to scientists across different disciplines.

ARTO is working with a clinical-stage biotechnology company using generative AI and experimental science to develop therapeutic biologics. Its platform combines AI-driven protein design with in-house laboratory testing to help create and assess novel antibody therapeutics.

The team is looking for a hands-on Senior/Staff AI Scientist to advance its antibody-design capabilities. This person will develop and apply machine-learning methods, work across computational and experimental teams, and use validation results to improve therapeutic designs.
