Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for Cloud AI, Agent Governance, in Sunnyvale, CA. You will own complex, high-impact systems spanning agent behaviors, tool calling, and multi-turn workflows, with emphasis on reliability, security, and enterprise-grade governance.

You will lead design and delivery of scalable platform infrastructure, integrate multiple product teams, and help advance Google Cloud’s AI initiatives for diverse industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 7 years of experience leading technical project strategy, ML design, and optimizing industry-scale ML infrastructure.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture, testing, and launching software products.
• 2 years of experience with GenAI techniques or related concepts.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and operate large-scale environments for agent behaviors and tool calling in sandboxes.
• Deliver reproducible evaluation infrastructure and automated test harnesses for enterprise visibility and compliance.
• Design and scale platform infrastructure for agentic systems validation and auditing.
• Build metrics engines and dashboards to track evaluation coverage and quality metrics.
• Integrate evaluation runs into deployment pipelines with release gates.
