Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead across complex technical work and act as a force multiplier for engineers. This hands-on role focuses on AI-enabled development, system design, and architectural scale within a collaborative team.

You will shape technical strategy, drive platform modernization, and develop AI systems that improve reliability and efficiency while mentoring others and ensuring durable engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience building and scaling enterprise software systems.
• Experience leading technical strategy and architecture across teams.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI development, including shipping real work with AI as a primary development collaborator.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-team initiatives and drive platform modernization and new product initiatives.
• Design scalable, maintainable systems with long-term architecture in mind.
• Embed AI into engineering workflows and build automation for quality and efficiency.
• Raise the technical bar and influence key technical decisions across teams.
