The Senior Staff Accountant is a critical role in the Finance and Accounting function, ensuring high-quality, valid accounting data, managing AP and AR, and supporting reporting. The role reports to the Head of Finance Rocketbook and collaborates with Finance, Business Development, Marketing, Operations, and Product teams. This position supports business growth, financial reporting, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Own full cycle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, reconciliations, and transaction recording in QuickBooks.
  2. Investigate and resolve billing or collection discrepancies, including direct discussions with vendors, customers, and partners.
  3. Oversee, manage, and direct data entry by the Supply team, including order entry and EDI integration accuracy.
  4. Maintain accurate inventory and item lists in QuickBooks, ensuring correct cost tracking.
  5. Reconcile general ledger, bank, vendor, and customer accounts.
  6. Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  7. Prepare and analyze GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  8. Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  9. Upload and submit month-end financial data to the BIC HFM system according to reporting deadlines.
  10. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
  11. File sales and use tax returns.
  12. Ensure financial compliance by maintaining appropriate documentation, approvals, and adherence to internal controls and company policies.
  13. Support external audits with timely preparation of reports, schedules, and requested data.
  14. Identify and implement improvements to accounting procedures and systems.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (corporate or public).
  3. Experience in the CPG industry and cost accounting.
  4. Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting skills.
  5. Proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise.
  6. Familiarity with Anaplan, Power BI, or ERP systems is a plus.
  7. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  8. High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  9. Effective communication, time management, and responsiveness.
