Zohorecruit is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a Washington metropolitan nonprofit. The position supports cash and investment accounting, grants, accounts payable, financial reporting, and budgeting within a collaborative Finance Team.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of nonprofit accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. CPA is preferred. This role is remote with coordination across the organization and reports to the Director of Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting/finance experience, with nonprofit experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency; attentive to detail.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly cash reconciliations for all cash accounts and manage outstanding-check compliance.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations and related journal entries for investment assets.
• Manage quarterly drawdown requests and journal entries for invested assets; coordinate asset transfers.
• Prepare quarterly interest allocations and post related journal entries.
• Support annual audit and IRS forms; assist with fund statements and tax filings.
