Job summary

Benesch Law in Cleveland seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to join our hybrid office. You will support monthly closes, prepare financial statements, and ensure internal controls with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

The role requires 7+ years of Big 4 experience or equivalent, with proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Aderant/Sage. The firm offers discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of Big 4 accounting experience or demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, compliance and audit coordination is required.
• Experience with preparation of financial statements, month-end closing, general ledger and fixed assets.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Aderant and Sage software is helpful.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Performs month-end close including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepares monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Income Statements).
• Reviews reconciliations of fixed assets and depreciation.
• Analyzes financial statement accounts for accurate reporting of balances.
• Maintains daily cash sheet accounts and internal controls compliance.
• Supports external audits with schedules and documentation.
