Job summary

Traffic Plan is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant in New Jersey to join our Accounting Department. This role will support key accounting functions, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

The ideal candidate has strong general accounting knowledge, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems. This is a full-time position with standard hours and no travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Three to five years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general accounting and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and nested formulas.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Strong organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee employee expense reimbursements and Travel and Entertainment expense management.
• Lead the implementation of new Travel and Entertainment software.
• Serve as backup for preparing daily cash summaries and communicating cash positions to management.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Support multi-entity accounting activities, including intercompany billing and reconciliations.
• Prepare and process journal entries.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
• Research accounting issues and support compliance with GAAP.
• Assist with audit preparation and coordinate documentation for external auditors.
• Review expenses and financial transactions as assigned.
• Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as needed.
• Prepare financial reports and assist with special accounting projects.
